COHR member Dr. Heather Fowler wins Martin Luther King Jr Community Service Award

COHR Team Member and UW School of Public Health doctoral student Heather Fowler, VMD MPH has been chosen to receive the 2015 Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Service Award, given by the UW Health Sciences Administration and UW Medical Center.  Among other activities Dr. Fowler volunteers at the Union Gospel Mission Doney Memorial Clinic which provides free veterinary care for no or low income pet owners. She and other workers at the clinic provide these pet owners with information about their pet’s health. Dr. Fowler also works with Seattle youth providing some career counseling for those interested in the public health and healthcare fields. She is also a member of the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences’ Diversity Committee.
