Environmental Health Library
The Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences maintains a library collection reflecting the multidisciplinary and dynamic nature of current research interests and course offerings within the department. The collection consists of cataloged materials including: toxicology and occupational health and safety reference works and standards, CDs & DVDs, books, technical reports, student theses, NIOSH, WHO and other government documents and numerous journals and newsletters.
Most of the library collection is available for borrowing, part of which is searchable on the online catalog. The library's two computer workstations provide access to the UW Libraries' catalog and many databases, including PubMed, TOXNET, Web of Science and other online resources. Off-campus access to these databases is restricted to UW students, staff and faculty.
Other libraries with relevant information are the UW Health Sciences Libraries, the Washington State Labor and Industries Library and the Region X Environmental Protection Agency Library. In addition to the main library located in the Health Sciences Building, there is a small reference collection housed with the Field Research and Consultation Group in the Roosevelt Building.
The EH Librarian is available to assist with reference questions, library research methods, literature searching, and general information needs for members of the Department, as well as the School of Public Health. The Environmental Health Library also serves affiliates of the University of Washington, government agencies, and the public.

When is the Library Open?
The library is open weekdays from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. The library is reserved daily from to as a lunch and conference room. The library can be reserved for meetings by signing up on the calendar on the door of the library.
What's the EH Library Catalog?
The EH Library has an easy-to use, web-based catalog on Libraryworld.com. It is searchable by title, author or keyword. Online checkout is not activated, so please email the library with the names of any items you wish to borrow. Loans are for 2 weeks and are renewable by request.
As the EH Library is an independent library and is not part of the UW Libraries.
Newspapers
The daily Seattle Times and the New York Times are available in the library. Please do not remove them from the library room.
Services
The EH Librarian will address any reference questions you might have, such as: "Where can I find information on...?", "How do I use this online database?", "Can I find this information on the Web?", "What is the best source for...?", "What is the standard citation format for my thesis?", "How can I get works not available on campus?", "Where do I begin?". We can assist with locating information, interlibrary loan requests, citation confirmations for purchasing or publication, creating bibliographies, etc. Please contact the librarian with your questions.
