For Community Members

For immediate assistance with concerns about a suspected exposure or acute poisoning, contact the Poison Center at (1-800-222-1222), 24 hours a day/7 days a week.

NW PEHSU serves as a source of information and guidance for community members with reproductive or pediatric environmental health concerns. We can help identify situations where there is high risk for environmental exposures, answer questions about possible health effects of suspected or confirmed exposures, provide advice on preventing or reducing harmful exposures, and work with healthcare providers to manage care if an exposure has occurred.

The NW PEHSU is affiliated with the University of Washington Medical Center Roosevelt Pediatric Care Center and the Occupational and Environmental Medicine Clinic at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. While the majority of consults are completed via phone and email working with providers in the community, a clinic appointment may be advised. Consultation services for community members and providers are offered through the PEHSU program at no cost.  Clinic appointments are not funded by the PEHSU program.

To request a consultation, call 1-877-KID-CHEM (1-877-543-2436) or email us at pehsu@uw.edu. A team member will respond to your request between 1 and 4  business days. If you or your child are currently experiencing symptoms, please see a medical provider.
