Application deadline for 2013 has passed
Dates - The program follows the University of Washington summer quarter schedule. The dates for 2013 are June 24 to August 23.
Eligibility - This program is for current undergraduates who will be completing their undergraduate degree in the 2013-2014 academic year or later. Students who will have completed their degree prior to the program start date are not eligible to apply. Funding requires that participants be US Citizens or US Permanent Residents. Students who are underrepresented in the sciences are strongly encouraged to apply.
Food - EHREP students are responsible for their own meals.
Funding - The stipend for 9 weeks is $5,200.
Housing - EHREP students are responsible for providing their own housing including on-campus options at the University of Washington. Students who choose to live on campus should expect to pay approximately $23.00 per night for housing in one of our dormitory apartments. At this nightly rate, total cost for housing will be approximately $1400 for the duration of the program. Students planning to live on campus will be expected to pay a housing deposit. Each apartment accommodates four students and includes four bedrooms, a kitchenette and a shared living space.
Majors - Students from all majors may apply although the program is most appropriate for those studying any science, mathematics, engineering, environmental health, and public health.
Non-University of Washington Students - EHREP welcomes applications from outside the University of Washington. In 2012, EHREP students came from: University of California, Santa Barbara; University of Great Falls, Montana; University of Notre Dame, Indiana; Universidad del Este, Puerto Rico; Western Washington University, Washington; Texas Southern University, Texas; and the University of Washington.
Working - EHREP students will not have time to hold an outside job while participating in the program.
