The CORE Group at UW

Are you a UW Dept. of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences student or staff member who would like to have more contact with the "real world" beyond the walls of the UW? The Center for Ecogenetics and Environmental Health and the Superfund Research Program both have active public engagement and research translation cores. We welcome volunteers to help us keep the "public" in public health!

There are a variety of opportunities – some require only an hour or two, others a more substantial commitment. Regardless of how much time you are able to give, you'll be rewarded with an experience that reminds you of why you decided to pursue a career in public health in the first place; to help people stay safe and healthy.

This informal group was initiated by a handful of DEOHS students with a strong desire to be more engaged with the public. We meet at least once every quarter during the school year - coffee and snacks are provided and all are welcome.

If you would like to know what the CORE group is up to, please subscribe to our DEOHS-CORE listserv. Detailed information about how to subscribe and manage your UW list subscriptions are HERE.

Please contact Marilyn Hair (marhair@uw.edu, 206-685-8244) if you have any questions.
