Ally is a PhD student at the University of Washington’s Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. In 2019, she earned her Master of Public Health and Master of City Planning from the University North Carolina - Chapel Hill in 2019. While at UW, Ally became a researcher with the PNASH Center. In her work with PNASH has included applying mixed methods to assessing the impact of sleep and fatigue on log truck accidents in the Pacific Northwest Region; and, working with logging and forestry industry stakeholders to disseminate research findings to workers for practical application. She specializes in understudied issues in environmental and occupational health, incorporating epidemiological and community-based participatory research study designs, to address community and worker needs. Ally's dissertation will focus on assessing experiences of gender-based violence and harassment, and their impact on mental health among U.S. mariners. After completing her PhD, Ally plans to pursue a professorship in environmental and occupational health at a public research institution.
