Emelin is a graduating senior, majoring in Medical Anthropology and Global Health. As an undergraduate, she worked as a researcher under the SURE-EH program studying H-2A Agricultural Worker Housing and Crowding, Among the Region 10 states - Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Alaska. Emelin is the proud daughter of two Mexican parents who have both worked in agriculture and truly value the work that she is doing for them and the greater agricultural community—who she will forever advocate for. After graduating she will be working at Seattle Children's Hospital as she prepares to apply to medical school. Emelin expresses her heartfelt gratitude to SURE-EH for creating a space to engage in research as well as her mentors who helped her every step of the way. |
