Alejandra Silva Hernández, MPH

Alejandra is deeply passionate about migrant health and language justice, and she is thrilled to contribute her expertise and skills to the Pacific Northwest Agricultural Safety and Health (PNASH) Center. Alejandra earned a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from the University of Washington. After graduation, she worked as a program coordinator in clinical trials, which led her to a Master of Public Health degree from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. While at Mailman, she worked with Those Nerdy Girls to disseminate COVID-19 information in Spanish to over 50,000 subscribers. 

At PNASH, Alejandra will be working on the Mixed-Methods Evaluation of Heat-Related Illness Prevention Policy Implementation and the Climate and Mental Health in Agriculture (CLIMA) projects, as well as working with the Outreach Core group to improve farmworker safety and well-being in the workplace.
