All PhD applicants must submit a complete application by the December 1 deadline.
September 1
Application opens for PhD, MS and MPH degrees.
December 1
Deadline for PhD applications. 1st cycle application deadline for MS and MPH.
December - February
Review of all PhD applications, and 1st cycle MS/MPH submitted and complete by December 1st.
February - March
Admissions decisions sent for PhD and 1st cycle MS / MPH applications.
April 15
Deadline for applicants to accept offers with funding support.
May 1
2nd cycle application deadline for MS / MPH.
June 1
Admissions decisions sent for 2nd cycle MS / MPH applications.
July 15
Final deadline for applicants to accept offers.
Graduate admissions requirements
Thank you for your interest in applying for our graduate degree programs. We look forward to reviewing your application materials! All application materials must be received by the deadline, including letters of recommendation.
PhD Admissions: There is one application cycle per year for PhD applicants. Applications received by December 1 will be considered for admission in autumn quarter (September) of the following year. Only applications which are complete by the Dec 1 deadline will be reviewed.
MS and MPH Admissions: There are 2 application cycles for MS and MPH applications. Both cycles open on September 1st. Cycle 1 closes on December 1, applicants are notified in early February. Cycle 2 closes on May 1st, applicants are notified in early June.
Applying to the MPH OEM degree
Applicants to the MPH in Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM) must first be accepted into the UW Occupational and Environmental Medicine Residency Program or the Madigan Preventive Medicine/Public Health Residency Program. Applicants will then apply to the MPH OEM degree by submitting a UW Graduate School Application.
