We are ready to make transferring into the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences a welcoming and tailor-made experience for each student. Our goal is to ensure your time in the department is fulfilling, which begins with the moment you explore transferring into our department.

As a transfer student, you can declare the Bachelors of Science in Environmental Public Health major after you are admitted to UW. Please consult the transfer admission website for more information about applying. Local students should plan to attend the weekly UW Admissions Transfer Thursday sessions, if possible.

Washington state community college students should use the transfer guides and sample transfer plans below as planning tools only. For updated courses, consult the online equivalency guide.

A UW Environmental Public Health adviser can guide you through the details of the major and is a wonderful resource to meet with before declaring the major. To schedule an appointment either in person or over the phone, see the Contact an Adviser page.

Transfer steps:

  1. Students transferring in as juniors (6 quarters/90 credits or more) should complete the Environmental Public Health major’s upper division prerequisite courses prior to enrolling at UW.
  2. Transfer students can declare the major after they have been admitted to the UW. Please consult the transfer admission website for more information about applying to the UW.
  3. Once you’ve applied and are admitted to the UW. Submit an Environmental Public Health application at https://apps.sphcm.washington.edu/envh/Apply

I thought, this is the perfect major for me as a premed student. It prepared me for medical school and gave me a bigger lens going forward.
