Research
Interests
- Influence of environmental toxicants on human fertility and testicular function.
- Laboratory preparation of human sperm for fertility treatments.
Projects
- Impact of wildfire smoke on human sperm. Using banked samples from sperm donors we are evaluating the impact of wildfire smoke exposure on sperm DNA integrity in September 2020. We are also evaluating the impact of wildfire smoke exposure on sperm concentration and motility for patients undergoing fertility treatments in September 2020.
- Sperm selection in the laboratory. We are evaluating how sperm preparation methods, including centrifugation settings, influence the quality of sperm samples prepared for fertility treatments.
- Novel methods of sample preparation for sperm cryopreservation. We are developing new open microfluidic approaches to preparation of small volumes for novel approaches to sperm cryopreservation.
