About
Dr. de Castro’s research focuses on population health inequities and inequalities by examining how employment opportunities, job conditions, and work organization contribute to chronic stress and occupational injury and illness risk; utilizing longitudinal analyses, biomarkers, large survey datasets, and engagement with minoritized groups. His teaching style applies a health equity and social determinants framework, incorporates problem-based learning, and encourages community service projects.
Dr de Castro leads the occupational health nursing training and the diversity program with NWCOHS, which works across the Schools of Public Health, Nursing, and Medicine.
