Dr Chan is a Professor and Research Chair in Toxicology and Environmental Health at the University of Ottawa in Canada. His research interests focus on toxicology, environmental health, nutrition and the environment of indigenous peoples; biological and biochemical processes involved in the metabolism and toxicity of environmental and nutritional contaminants; effects of trace element deficiency; effects of contaminants in the ecosystem; and risk assessment.
