Dr. Kelsey Jesser is a Clinical Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences at the University of Washington.

Currently she has joint appointments as a Visiting Professor with Universidad de La Sabana, Faculty of Nursing, Bogotá, Colombia and as an Occupational Health Instructor for Texas A&M University.

Dr. Burkhart is a geographer and climate scientist and is an Assistant Professor of Health Metrics Sciences at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) at the University of Washington. In this role, she works on the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) project, conducting research on environmental risks and methods to include exposure to suboptimal temperature. Dr.

Dr. Julianne Meisner is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the UW Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences (DEOHS) and an Assistant Professor in the UW Department of Global Health. A veterinarian with a PhD in Epidemiology, Dr. Meisner’s research interests focus on the intersection of human, animal and environmental health.

Karen Levy is Professor in the UW Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences (DEOHS). Her group carries out research on the ecology and epidemiology of enteric (food and waterborne) diseases.

Cory Morin has recently joined the Department of Global Health as an acting assistant professor in the Center for Health and the Global Environment (CHanGE). He received his PhD from the University of Arizona in Geography (minor in Entomology and Insect Science) with a concentration on climate and environmental influences on the ecology of vectors and vector-borne diseases.

Wayne Turnberg, PhD, MSPH, is the Director for the Washington State Department of Health’s Office of Communicable Disease Epidemiology, and Lecturer with the University of Washington, Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences and Department of Health Services, Community-Oriented Public Health Practice Program.

Dr. Romesh Gautom has been the Director of the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) State Public Health Laboratories (PHL) since 2001. Dr. Gautom has been working at the PHL since 1996.

Dr. Takaro is a physician-scientist trained at the University of Washington, Occupational and Environmental Medicine Program. His work is directed primarily toward determining if linkages exist between occupational or environmental exposures and disease and finding public health based preventive solutions where such hazards exist.

His research focuses on the quantification of exposures and risk as they relate to environmental and occupational health.

Dr. Roberts' research interests include identification of methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus [MRSA] and vancomycin resistant enterococci [VRE] in environmental samples, antibiotic resistance using a One Health approach. Dr. Roberts is interested in how antibiotic resistance genes and resistant bacteria move between the environment, humans and animals.
